IT Application specialist

Bayer Ltd, a leading multinational company, is opening a  position of IT Application specialist. 

IT Application specialist ensures the efficient and effective operation of the SAP platform within the organization. This role is responsible for managing user access, providing technical support, and optimizing system functionalities to align with business processes. The IT application specialist acts as a key liaison between users and IT, facilitating training, resolving issues, and implementing changes that enhance system performance. Additionally, specialist monitors compliance with regulatory requirements, supports global projects, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximize the value of the SAP system for the organization. Ultimately, this position plays a crucial role in enabling the organization to leverage its ERP capabilities to achieve strategic business objectives.

Major tasks and responsibilities: 

User Access Management:

Controlling access to the SAP system by managing user accounts and permissions.

Regularly reviewing and updating user rights to ensure compliance with company policies and security standards.

Technical Support and User Training:

Providing technical support to system users, addressing issues and providing solutions in a timely manner.

Conducting comprehensive training sessions for new users to ensure they are proficient in using the SAP system.

Developing user manuals and documentation to facilitate self-service support.

Issue Resolution:

Answering queries and resolving problems related to the use of SAP, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.

Collaborating with IT support teams for escalated issues that require advanced troubleshooting.

Business Process Analysis and Optimization:

Analyzing existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and propose optimization solutions.

Working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure SAP functionalities align with business objectives.

Change Management:

Creating requests based on user feedback and system requirements, monitoring the implementation of these changes.

Conducting testing of changes to ensure they meet the required specifications and do not disrupt existing functionalities.

Project Participation:

Actively participating in global projects within the company, contributing SAP expertise to ensure successful implementation and integration of new functionalities.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business strategies.

Legislative Compliance:

Monitoring changes in legislation that may impact the SAP system, ensuring timely updates and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Creating and managing requests for system updates based on legislative changes to maintain operational integrity.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintaining up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Continuous Improvement:

Staying current with SAP updates and best practices, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in system performance and user experience.

Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SAP administration.

Collaboration and Communication:

Establishing strong communication channels with users, stakeholders, and IT teams to facilitate effective collaboration and information sharing.

Providing regular updates to management on system status, user issues, and ongoing projects.

Key Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.•
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in SAP administration or a similar role.
• Proven experience in managing user access, system configurations, and troubleshooting within the SAP environment.
• Strong understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SAP FI, CO, MM, SD) and their integration with business processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement effective changes.
• Ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner
• High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in system configurations, documentation, and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs, technologies, and processes.•
• Proactive approach to understanding user needs and enhancing their experience with the SAP system
