Job Title:  Programmes Coordinator

Reporting to: Country Representative

Contract Type: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Duty Station: Kyiv, Ukraine


Part 1:  Role Purpose:

Street Child is seeking a person who eager to be involved in supporting the response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by Russian military assault. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a member of well-established international organisation and its growing team in Ukraine. The role will require a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to oversee all existed projects at Street Child Ukraine, communicate on this regard with implementing partners and report to Country Representative. Extensive portion of the hired person’s time will be writing well-structured and precise reports to Street Child head office and donors together with leading the process of project proposals writing for potential fund opportunities. Therefore, skill to write clearly together with ability to communicate with different stakeholders and coordinate numerous projects are crucial for this role. 

We are looking for candidates with a ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to support wherever needed. This is a demanding role and is suited to individuals who enjoy being busy and involved in different exciting projects aim to support children affected by war. In return it is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in a globally renowned international humanitarian NGO.

This role is opened to implement project funded by Ukrainian Humanitarian Fund (project number 27464).


Part 2:  Key Responsibilities:

1) Project Delivery (50%) 

• Act as a crucial link between numerous ongoing projects in Ukraine and the programmes team in the UK office,

• Communicate with project managers to keep track of activity progress and ensure best practices are adhered in project implementation,

• Work closely with partners and colleagues to collect, analyse and share information on implementation successes and challenges,

• Provide technical and administrative support throughout all stages of programming,

• Provide support in identifying, capturing, synthesizing, and sharing lessons learned for knowledge development and capacity development of the organisation,

• Ensure the component of safeguarding and child protection incorporated into programmes throughout all stages.

 2) Report and Project Proposal Writing (30%) 

• Lead the process of submitting high quality reports in line with deadlines and requirements to key stakeholders and donors,

• Lead the process of submitting structured, high quality and winning proposals for identified fund opportunities in line with deadlines and requirements of donors,

• Accumulate all organizational resources in order to provide precise data and information for internal or external stakeholders.

 3) Partnership and Representation (20%) 

• Provide support in identifying partners, donors, government and non-government stakeholders for Street Child upcoming projects and activities in Ukraine,

• Support Country Representative to present Street Child at stakeholder, donor, coordination meetings where necessary.

4) Other 

• Carry out all reasonable requests that are within the broad remit of the role,

• A strong commitment to Street Child’s vision, mission, and values,

• Adhere to all Street Child’s policies and procedures.


Part 3:  Person Specification       

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

•At least 5 years of work experience in humanitarian or development sectors in Ukraine,

• Excellent written and spoken Ukrainian and English language skills,

• Experience in writing proposals to donors in humanitarian or developmental context,

• Previous experience in writing narrative reports to international humanitarian donors,

• Demonstrated experience to work under pressure and tight deadlines, 

• Ability to work independently on a range of tasks and to take initiative to take on further responsibilities as appropriate,

• Ability to gather, store, share information related to project and pass information to other team members in structural way,

• Demonstrable experience working closely with national/local NGOs in Ukraine,         

• Experience working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Presentations, and other Office tools,

• Previous experience in writing project proposals to international humanitarian and/or development donors will be beneficial.

Education / Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Political Science, Project Management, International Development, Humanitarian, Human Rights, Education, Child Protection or related field
