Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss organisation for children’s aid. Since 1960, Tdh has helped build a better future for children and youth, especially those most exposed to risks, making an impact with innovative and sustainable solutions. Active in more than 30 countries, Tdh works with its own teams and/or local and international partners to develop and implement field projects which significantly improve the daily lives of over four million children and members of their communities every year, with a focus on mother and child health, migration, and access to justice for children.
In Europe, Tdh strives to ensure the full realisation of children’s rights, equally and without discrimination. We are present in Albania, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, and Greece, while together with partners, we reach children in other 14 European countries.
Tdh started operations in Ukraine in 2015 and operated until February 2022 through 2 operational offices in Mariupol and Sievierodonetsk, while maintaining a coordination/representation office in Kyiv. Following the Invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation Army, the Tdh team has relocated in Ivano Frankivsk, where it started operations for the area of West Ukraine, which is the first operational base for the response to the current humanitarian crisis. The organization is aiming to operate in the Kyiv and surrounding areas and potentially in East Ukraine. We are providing various services to children, youth and their families in the conflict affected area, with a strong focus on psychosocial support.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct static/ mobile child-focused and adolescent-focused activities for psychosocial well-being and building resiliency in children and adolescents. The activities implemented will include structured MHPSS, semi-structured MHPSS, recreational activities, arts, crafts, and active games.
- Faciliate parenting skills sessions
- In coordination and collaboration with the MHPSS/CP officer prepare weekly and monthly work plans with clear objectives setting short-term, miud-term and long-term targets priorities
- Regularly update MHPSS/CP officer on the MHPSS progress location-wise and /or any modification that needs to be made with regard to the implementation process
- Facilitate both internal and external referrals of children attending MHPSS activities in need of additional support, care or protection
- Make sure MHPSS and recreational supplies are available for the activities at all times and ensure that at the end of the day materials are securely stored
- Participate in the MHPSS registration process, fill beneficiaries daily’s attendance lists and other reports as required by the line manager and ensure accuracy and timely submission
- Conduct participatory M&E activities to collect beneficiaries’ feedback and opinions on the quality and satisfaction with the activities and ensure this feedback informs implementation of the MHPSS activities
- Participate in surveys and data collection when required
Coordination and representation
- Establish and maintain positive and efficient relations with target beneficiaries, community members, Tdh partners, CP and non-CP actors, formal and informal local authorities, Site Management, CiC etc
- Participate in fora and meetings held at the Camp/ host community level, when relevant and necessary
Child Protection/ Safeguarding
- Promote inclusion and equal access for every child, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and at-risk children and children with disabilities
- Identify potential cases of children in need of additional support, care or protection and report to the Case Management Team
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information and data of beneficiaries at all times
- Ensure Child Protection Minimum Standards are mainstreamed into all the MHPSS activities
- Report serious cases of abuse committed against children to the CP Project Manager/coordination team. Strict confidentiality must be respected.
Other
- Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is upheld at all times
- Ensure adherence to Tdh standards and quality requirements in all the project activities.

YOUR PROFILE
Knowledge:
- Professional diploma/ University degree in social work, social studies, psychology/ child’s psychology, education, counselling or other related discipline
- Minimum 1 year experience in the field of child protection / protection/ MHPSS/ SGBV/ social work/ education
- Basic IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, excel)
- Knowledge of child protection systems in Ukraine/ Excellent facilitation and non-fornal education skills / Previous experience in drafting PSS activity plans and structured plans of recreational activities is highly desirable / Previous experience in working with youth target groups is of benefit.
Languages:
- Fluent in Ukrainian, good mastery of English would be beneficial
