IT Functional Infrastructure specialist

Bayer Ltd, a leading multinational company, is opening a  position of IT Functional Infrastructure specialist (located in Pochuyki plant).

The IT Functional Infrastructure position is to design, implement, and manage the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient support for business operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of critical infrastructure components, such as servers, networks, and storage systems. The IT Functional Infrastructure professional serves as a key technical resource, providing troubleshooting support, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and developing disaster recovery plans. By collaborating with various stakeholders and participating in IT projects, this position aims to align infrastructure capabilities with organizational goals, ultimately enhancing the overall performance and resilience of the IT environment.

Major tasks and responsibilities: 

Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, and storage systems. Ensure the infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs.

System Configuration and Optimization: Configure and optimize IT systems and applications to enhance performance and reliability. Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency. 

Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for infrastructure-related issues, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely manner. Collaborate with other IT teams to address complex issues and ensure seamless operation. 

Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and infrastructure changes for management review. 

Project Participation: Participate in IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. Collaborate with project teams to ensure infrastructure requirements are met and integrated effectively. 

Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies. 

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT infrastructure. Conduct regular testing of recovery procedures to ensure readiness in the event of an incident. 

Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of infrastructure services and support. Evaluate vendor performance and manage contracts to optimize service delivery. 

Capacity Planning: Monitor resource usage and forecast future infrastructure needs to support business growth. Plan and implement upgrades or expansions to infrastructure components as needed. 

Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices related to IT infrastructure. Participate in governance activities to align infrastructure management with organizational policies.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT teams, departments, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of infrastructure services. Communicate infrastructure changes, updates, and issues to relevant parties in a clear and timely manner.

Key Skills

• Master’s degree with around 5 years of relevant business experience
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Technologies, Windows Servers. 
• Extensive knowledge of IP, WAN, LAN & Wifi Networking
• Comprehensive Experience with VMWare, vCentre, & ESXi
• Good understanding of Storage, SAN, NAS &  Backup Technologies
• Awareness of Infrastructure best practice
• good intercultural understanding and experience
• strong stakeholder management skills on senior management level
• analytical and structural way of working
• Solid collaboration and partnering capabilities; ability to develop trusting relationships on a multi-national level
• Knowledge and experience in digital transformation topics
• good communication skills 
• fluent English, in speech and writing
