Card Operations Specialist

We are looking for a Card Operations Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing card-based payment solutions, ensuring smooth operations of payment processing systems, and working with a variety of stakeholders (banks, financial institutions, and merchants) to ensure the seamless functioning of card payment systems. You will also contribute to the development, implementation, and optimization of our card products and services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the payments industry, particularly with card issuance, transaction processing, and fraud prevention, as well as a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape related to card payments.

Responsibilities:  

• Card Product Management: Oversee the setup, launch, and ongoing management of card payment products (debit, credit, prepaid, virtual cards). Ensure that card offerings meet customer needs and company objectives.

• Transaction Processing: Manage day-to-day card transaction processing operations, monitor transaction flows, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of accuracy and reliability in processing.

• Payment Systems Integration: Collaborate with banks, financial institutions, and third-party vendors to integrate payment gateways and card transaction services into the broader payment ecosystem.

• Fraud Detection and Prevention: Implement and monitor fraud prevention strategies, conduct risk assessments, and manage the investigation and resolution of suspicious activities or fraudulent transactions.

• Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, AML, KYC) and internal policies related to card issuance, transactions, and security.

• Customer Support and Issue Resolution: Provide technical support and issue resolution for clients, partners, and customers regarding card products, transactions, and payment systems.

• Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on card transactions, performance metrics, and fraud trends. Use data insights to recommend improvements and optimize processes.

• Operational Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline card operations, reduce transaction costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Collaborate with IT and product teams to implement system enhancements.

• Market Awareness: Stay current on industry trends, new payment technologies, and evolving regulatory requirements. Offer insights and recommendations to enhance the company’s card payment solutions.

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in card operations, payment systems, or a related field. Experience working with payment processors, banks, or fintech companies is preferred.

• Familiarity with payment platforms, transaction processing systems (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, EMV), and card processing technologies (e.g., API integrations, POS systems).

• Understanding of card payment security standards such as PCI DSS, and familiarity with fraud detection and prevention mechanisms.

• strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues related to card payments, transaction disputes, and system errors.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, partners, and cross-functional teams, and to prepare clear, concise reports.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in managing card payment systems and resolving discrepancies.
