Корпоративний юрист (In-house lawyer)

Main objective:

Under the supervision of Director of the Mission, In-house lawyer will be responsible for creating and maintaining an effective (efficient, internal customer-oriented, systematic) system to support the organizational and project activities of the Subdivision in full compliance with national and international laws and regulations applicable to the Subdivision.

The in-house lawyer will primarly focus on:

1. Providing recommendations on the legality of legally significant actions and decisions taken by the Subdivision’s officials;

2. Protection by legal means of the rights and legitimate interests of the Subdivision and the organization Subdivision represents in Ukraine;

3. Organizing and ensuring legally correct internal and external document flow in the Subdivision;

4. Providing information and consulting services to the administration of the Subdivision with legal information;

5. Maintaining and developing legal culture as an essential part of the Subdivision’s corporate culture.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

1. Participation in the development and maintenance of internal legal documentation: regulations, orders, instructions, and other internal acts of the Subdivision, methodological guidance in this area;

2. Participation in the development and support (including negotiations) of external legal documentation: contracts, protocols of disagreements, claims, requests and other similar documentation;

3. Legal evaluation and certification of legal documents submitted for review, development of amendments and other proposals to them, methodological guidance of the activities of responsible executives in drafting and executing contractual documents;

4. Legal review and assessment of materials and messages intended for distribution in the media, social networks, etc;

5. Ensuring the legality of the formation and functioning of the Subdivision’s governing bodies, participating in the preparation and execution of their decisions, advising the Subdivision’s governing bodies on legal issues of the Subdivision’s activities;

6. Participation in the collegial review of organizational issues of the Subdivision’s activities: as a member of commissions, at working meetings, etc;

7. Conducting consultative, explanatory and introductory legal work among the employees of the Subdivision on legal aspects of the Subdivision’s activities and related issues;

8. Legal support of all forms of work with the Subdivision’s personnel, including preparation of legal opinions regarding proposals of the Subdivision’s officials to bring employees to disciplinary and financial responsibility;

9. Legal support of any registration actions related to the registration (accounting) of the Subdivision with the competent authorities of Ukraine;

10. Preparation and execution of documents submitted to judicial and other governing bodies: applications, claims, complaints, calculations of claims, responses to claims, and other official letters;

11. Accounting and storage of contracts related to the activities of the Subdivision;

12. Interaction with the national and local authorities, responding to their inquiries, letters, petitions and other official documents;

13. Analyzing the Subdivision’s contractual and claims practice, violations in the Subdivision’s activities, developing measures and proposals to eliminate the identified violations.

To apply you need to have proven experience in:

• Legislation on non-profit organizations, civil law, financial, commercial, and labor law; 

• modern information technologies;

• Foreign language - English (preferably).

• Required education - higher professional education in the relevant field of study (master’s degree, specialist).

• Previous work experience required - at least 3 years of experience on similar positions or as a lawyer.
